In addition to the traditional CSAs, we offer New York City Market CSAs. The New York City Market CSAs work differently from the traditional CSA. You still pay upfront as as in the traditional CSAs and get a 10% discount from farmers market prices added to your deposit at the time you join.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Potential members must estimate what they believe they will spend during the 22 week season. (See example below). The minimum membership is $275.00. Each week, the member comes to one of the Norwich Meadows Market stands and purchases what they want. The content of the shares is not pre-determined. A running tally is kept in a record book. If the member uses up their fee money before the season has ended, they will have to purchase from the stand at a higher price.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
The benefits are that you can buy what you want when you want. We also reserve some of the harder to find items, such as berries, or items that are in short supply for paid members. Plus, you buy at a lower price. In order to continue to purchase at the discounted prices, it is imperative that the individual estimate as closely as possible what their total cost for the season will be.
Example:
If you estimate your purchases to be about $20.00 per week, you would multiply $20.00 by 22 weeks. This gives you a total of $440.00 for the season to be paid in advance. This does not mean you can only purchase $20.00 worth of goods per week. The member can spend $30.00 one week, spend $15.00 another week, or even skip a week if they are out of town. The important factor is not to exhaust your shares before the season ends.
WHERE ARE THE MARKETS LOCATED?
Members can purchase at any of our market stands located at:
Union Square on Friday, Saturday and Monday, Tompkins Square Park Market on Sunday, or at our newest market at Styvesant Square Park on Sunday.

First estimate what you would spend for the season (22 weeks) then mail your check, made out to Norwich Meadows Farm, along with your application to: Norwich Meadows Farm, 105 Old Stone Road, Norwich, NY 13815, or stop by one of our stands listed above.
